About Trevor Cole

Listed in the Who's Who in Canada and the recipient of various awards including the Canada 125 Medal, Editor-in-chief Trevor Cole graduated from the Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew in 1960 and emigrated to Canada in 1967. In his career with Agriculture Canada, he was a horticultural technician engaged in the evaluation and cultivation of native plants, assistant curator in charge of alpine and herbaceous plants and curator in charge of the Dominion Arboretum. Retired since 1995, Cole lectures widely and is the editor-in-chief of DK's Canadian Encyclopedia of Gardening, the Gardening Manual for Canada as well as the popular What Grows Where and What Grows When garden reference books. He resides in Ottawa.
