David Bird is a professor of Wildlife Biology and Director of the Avian Science and Conservation Centre at McGill University. Currently the President of the Society of Canadian Ornithologists, he is also a Fellow of the American Ornithologists’ Union and a Canadian representative on the International Ornithological Committee. Having received several awards for his conservation work, Dr. Bird is a regular columnist for Bird Watcher’s Digest, the Montreal Gazette and is the author of several books.
