Neil McNab

Neil McNab is one of Britain's most highly qualified and respected snowsports professionals

As a professional freeride snowboarder, snowboard trainer/instructor, international ski teacher and UIAGM high mountain guide there are not many mountain pursuits in which Neil is not highly trained.

During his career, already spanning over 20 years (since 1987) Neil has competed as a top 20 ranking world cup snowboard competitor, earning the title of ‘Overall British Snowboard Champion’ over four consecutive years (93 – 96) before quitting competitive snowboarding for a career as a professional freerider, travelling the world for filming and promotional photo shoots.

Neil McNab was instrumental in setting up the current Snowboard Instructors' qualification and training system as used by BASI (British Association of Snowsports Instructors) and has spent the past decade developing his theory on the scientific approach to developing snowboard technique and the McNab pressure point technique.

In his book/DVD ‘Go Snowboard’ Neil teaches you how to develop your riding based upon this scientific approach using a simple combination of bio mechanics (body management), physics (turn shape) and technology (board design) to ‘turn your board by design rather than by force’.

Neil McNab lives in Chamonix France where through his company ‘McNab snowsports’ he runs specialist courses in freeride technique, backcountry freeriding and freestyle performance for both skiers and snowboarders.
