Dr Jacqueline Mitton obtained her doctorate in astronomy from Cambridge University. She edited the Journal of the British Astronomical Associaton from 1987 to 1993 and has been Public Relations Officer of the Royal Astronomical Society since 1989. She lives in Cambridge. Her numerous books for adults and children include The Penguin Dictionary of Astronomy and co-writing on DK's The Way the Universe Works.
